• Notes

  Minnie Moore taught school in the old Oak Grove Methodist Church in the 1890's. This was the old log church located one fourth of a mile south of the present site of the church. It was on land given by Enoch Underwood when the Methodist church split in the mid 1800's. Joseph and Minnie left Dumplin Valley in the 1920's to go to Jefferson County, Tennessee, where they farmed and ran a general store. They later moved to Cumberland County, Tenn. [1]
